1) Pneumoperitoneum is a valuable adjunct in the therapy of tuberculosis and merits full consideration when decisions are being made as to the best form of therapy for any given case.
2) It can be used alone or with phrenicectomy or phrenic crush.
3) It is a relatively safe procedure and provides potential reserve in the event of recurrence after expansion.
4) In pneumoperitoneum, as in other forms of therapy the mental attitude of the patient is of prime importance and may even be one of the determining factors in the success or failure of treatment.
