Effects of Intravenously Administered ACTH on the Pulmonary Function in Bronchial Asthma and Emphysema

Pulmonary functions were examined in nine cases of bronchial asthma and emphysema before and after treatment with intravenously administered ACTH. In five there was an improvement in all lung functions. In the other four cases no uniform response was obtained but most of the lung functions showed deterioration.
