Cerebral Air Embolism Complicating Therapeutic Pneumoperitoneum

One case with recovery from cerebral air embolism complicating therapeutic pneumoperitoneum is reported. Similar accidents reported in the literature are briefly discussed and precautions to be observed in administering pneumoperitoneum are reviewed. An additional safeguard represented by abdominal decompression is suggested for managing this complication.
