Utilization of the Posterior Sinus of Valsalva for the Creation of a Third Coronary Artery

The utilization of the posterior sinus of Valsalva as the site of origin for a "third" or posterior coronary artery is technically feasible. Blood flow issuing from this site may be electively directed to any, or any combination of the major branches of the left and right coronary arteries.
