1. Pulmonary complications produced by enlarged, caseous hilar and mediastinal lymph nodes may occur following primary tuberculosis in children.
2. Adenectomy has been advocated in order to avoid permanent lung complications. When already present, irreversibly damaged lung tissue should be resected.
3. The authors present their experience with 22 such cases operated upon for irreversibly damaged pulmonary tissue.
