Cavernectomy for Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Experience with cavernectomy indicates that it is a useful, safe, tissue-sparing procedure. It is especially indicated in the treatment of "healed" and "unhealed" cavities which are surrounded by tissue containing little disease. It is contraindicated when pericavitary disease is extensive.
