1. Techniques of non-suture anastomosis have been developed utilizing a plastic monomer adhesive.
2. Eastman 910 adhesive is converted to a solid polymer by minute amounts of moisture in the environment, resulting in a firm adhesion within 30 to 60 seconds.
3. Three methods of vascular anastomoses utilizing the adhesive with a patch, an eversion ring, and an intraluminal stent are described.
4. The use of adhesive may evolve as the ideal method for small blood vessels, and as an adjunct to present suture techniques for reinforcement of the suture line in major vessels.
