Ectopic Mediastinal Thyroid: Fectures in Diagnosis and Factors in Treatment

1. The embryology, anatomy, diagnosis and treatment of ectopic mediastinal thyroid are discussed.

2. The place of special diagnostic studies (radioactive iodine uptake and scanning, and angiocardiography) is emphasized.

3. Four cases of ectopic mediastinal thyroid surgically treated are presented.
