Philip Samet M.D., F.C.C.P.1; William H. Bernstein M.D.1; Aaron Medow M.D.1; and Sydney Levine M.D.1

1 Cardio-Pulmonary Laboratory, Mount Sinai Hospital and the Section of Cardiology, University of Miami School of Medicine

The results of right heart catheterization and transseptal left heart catheterization in 32 normal subjects have been outlined. These data will serve as a baseline for comparison with left heart data in patients with various types of heart disease. The normal levels of left atrial and left ventricular pressure and the normal levels of cardiac index as well as the normal true pulmonary blood volume have been given as part of this study.
