Anginoid Pain from Funnel Chest Deformity

Report of a Case

1. A funnel chest deformity can produce cardiac and respiratory symptoms, including anginoid pain by precordial pressure.

2. Relief from cardiac symptoms can be obtained by elevation of the depressed sternum.

3. Recurrence of precordial pain and orthopnea has been described accompanying recurrence of the funnel chest deformity.

4. Cardiac tamponade produced the same cardiac symptoms previously relieved by funnel chest repair.
