1 Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Cardiovascular Research, The Chicago Medical School and Attending Cardiologist, Mount Sinai Hospital, Chicago, Illinois
A case of digitalis poisoning in a hyperthyroid patient is discussed. The patient survived in spite of the enormous doses of digitoxin received over several months, and more acutely during 19
days, in which period 21 mg were administered by mouth. Considerations on the cardiac and neurologic symptoms are made, as well as on the relationship between digitalis and thyroid hormone.
