Thomas A. Neff M.D.1 and Bruce J. Coan B.S.2

1 Department of Medicine, University of Colorado School of Medicine, University of Colorado Medical Center, Denver
2 Student Clerk, Department of Medicine, University of Colorado Medical Center

The records of 200 consecutive patients who received various antituberculosis chemotherapy regimens were reviewed for drug intolerance. The drug intolerance rate was 17.5 percent for all cases; streptomycin intolerance occurred in 12.9 percent, and was approximately twice as frequent as with PAS and five times as frequent as with INH. Three fourths of all the drug intolerance observed occurred within 30 days of the initiation of therapy.
