Clinical Pharmacology Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Frederick Wolff M.D.

Clinical pharmacology is part and parcel of the rational practice of medicine, and is just as old. It is a combining force between the disciplines of chemistry, pharmacology, and clinical medicine. It counteracts the fragmentation of medicine, and endeavors to study drugs systematically in patients and influence physicians to use medications in as rational a manner as possible. Properly supported, it will lead to more rapid and economic progress in therapeutics.
