A paitent with alveolar proteinosis, severe hypoxemia, and pulmonary hypertension on is described in whom oxygen inhalation reduced the pulmonary arterial pressure to nearly normal. Continuous, long-term, ambulatory oxygen administration may relieve cor pulmonale due to hypoxemia in patients with alveolar proteinosis.
