We report the case of a patient admitted with fever, chest pain, and electrocardiographic changes. The patient developed a persisting pericardial friction rub, and two blood cultures grew Listeria monocytogenes. Therapy was instituted with intravenous penicillin with subsidence of all signs and symptoms. We believe this to he the first case report of Listeria bacteremia with pericarditis.
