1 Department of Cardiology, (head: C.L.C. van Nieuwenhuizen, M.D.) St. Antonius Hospital, Utrecht, The Netherlands
A three and one half-year-old boy with aberrant systemic artery to the right lower lung segment is reported. Bronchogram and pulmonary angiogram were normal. Microscopic examination of biopsies taken on the operating table revealed normal pulmonary tissue. Although resection of the lung segment involved is usually performed, it is suggested that surgical therapy of such cases should be confined to ligation and section of the aberrant artery.
