Effectiveness of Small, Increasing Doses of Intramuscular Reserpine in Hypertension

An "intermediate" schedule for the treatment of patients with moderately severe hypertension has been developed using intramuscular reserpine in gradually increasing doses. Twenty-one of 22 patients responded to this regimen with a mean decrease in diastolic blood pressure of 41 mm Hg. No patient developed hypotension.
