This paper is to familiarize the angiographer with the scope and goals to be achieved by pulmonary angiography in bronchogenic carcinoma suspects. One hundred one patients with proved bronchogenic carcinoma were studied by pulmonary angiography and mediastinoscopy. The complementary nature of these two modalities is stressed. Of 23 patients operated on with negative pulmonary angiogram and mediastinoscopy, the carcinomas of 21 were resectable. Pulmonary angiography is safe, informative, and when positive, gives a graphic representation of central tumor involvement.
