1 Division of Cardiology, The Ahari Children's Medical Center, Tehran, Iran
The clinical and electrovectorcardiographic findings in two infants with anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery are presented. Both had myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure and anginal episodes starting at three months of age. Despite medical treatment both infants died. One infant showed progression of the infarct pattern and subsequently some improvement; the other showed regression of the infarct pattern. It is proposed that progression of infarction is an indication for early surgical intervention of some kind and that regression or improvement of infarct pattern should not be construed as an indication of true improvement.
