Coronary Arteriography in Situs Inversus Dextrocardia

Massoud Maleki M.D.1 and Felix E. Tristani M.D.1

1 Chief, Cardiovascular Section, Veterans Administration Center; Associate Professor of Medicine, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Selective coronary arteriography by the Judkin's technique can be readily accomplished in dextrocardia. Cineradiographs should be obtained in the mirror image obliquities for each coronary vessel and cardiac chamber. To avoid any potential error of identification and interpretation of the coronary vessels, films could be reviewed in reverse fashion, which would project the cardiac structures as if there were no dextrocardia.
