Successful Surgical Therapy of Ruptured Myocardium

A patient with cardiac rupture presented in shock with the clinical signs of tamponade. Survival was attributed to immediate pericardiocentesis, followed by closure of the perforation with a Dacron graft under cardiopulmonary bypass.
