The study reported here of the relationship between the frequency of ventricular premature contractions during longterm electrocardiographic recording and the presence of ventricular dysfunction due to coronary artery disease indicates that a direct relationship between these two factors exists. The presence of ventricular asynergy observed during ventricular angiography was the only parameter, among a number of other hemodynamic factors studied which demonstrated such a relationship. The degree of ventricular premature beats, aberrancy or coupling interval duration, did not appear to have any desciptive significance.
