Nonsurgical retrieval of fragments of polyethylene catheters embolized and lodged in the cardiovascular system was accomplished by means of a myocardial biopsy catheter in two patients. Choice of available retrieval methods should take into consideration the diameter of the catheter, emboli and its location within the cardiovascular system. The method described here, which is simple, effective and safe seems suitable in selected cases.
