Pneumocystis pneumonia increases the clearance rate of inhaled 99mTc DTPA from lung to blood

Despite no radiographic change, a patient with Pneumocystis pneumonia showed increased clearance of inhaled 99mTc DTPA from lung to blood. Gas transfer for carbon monoxide was also reduced, but improved with treatment. This was paralleled by serial increase in the t1/2 LB.
