Clarifications

In the October 2003 supplement, the abstract, "Tuberculosis: A Modified Quantiferon Assay May Help Diagnose Latent Infection and Hard-to-identify Active Disease" (CHEST 2003; 124:115S), was submitted without listing all coauthors. The correct author listing should read as follows: Henry Yeager, MD, FCCP; Barbara Zeligs, BS; Jaime Chavez, MD; Shahla Riazi, MD; and Joseph A. Bellanti, MD.

In the October 2003 supplement, the abstract, "Supraglottic Hemangioma, Bronchoscopy Diagnostic of an Atypical Presentation of Laryngeal Stridor, Associated With Double Vascular Ring in an Infant" (CHEST 2003; 124:324S), was submitted with the coauthors ranked incorrectly. The correct author listing should read as follows: G. Teresita Gutiérrez, MD; M. Jose Cota, MD; Erick W. Bringas, MD; Daniel Carrasco, MD; M. Silvia Lule, MD.

In the October 2003 supplement, the abstract, "Bosentan in Pulmonary Artery Hypertension Secondary to Systemic Sclerosis" (CHEST 2003; 124:223S), was submitted with the coauthors listed incorrectly. The correct author listing should read as follows: A. Joglekar, MD; F. S. Tsai, MD; D. A. McCloskey, RN; J. E. Wilson, RN; J. R. Seibold, MD; D. J. Riley, MD.

In the October 2003 supplement, the abstract, "Significance of Allogenic Blood Transfusion on Decreased Survival in Patients With Esophageal Adenocarcinoma" (CHEST 2003; 124:232S), was submitted with the coauthors listed incorrectly. The correct author listing should read as follows: Sudip Ghosh, PhD, FRCS; Matti Mahmoud, MRCS; Alison Finall, MRCS; John P. Duffy, MS, FRCS; William E. Morgan, FRCS; Frederick D. Beggs, FRCS.

In the October 2003 supplement, the abstract, "Bilateral Pulmonary Nodules Secondary to Leiomyomatosis" (CHEST 2003; 124:287S–288S) by Cheng et al, was submitted with several errors in Table 1. In the Canzonieri study (Case 2), the patient age should be 49. The Clement study was published in 1988, not 1998; in that study, the treatment column should read "Excision of some nodules and tamoxifen." In the Matsumoto study, the follow-up column should read "Alive, 6 yrs post-op."

In the October 2003 issue, the paper, "High Dose Rate Brachytherapy for Nonmalignant Airway Obstruction: New Treatment Option" (CHEST 2003; 124:1605–1610) by Brenner et al, was submitted with an error in an author’s name. The authorship should read as follows: Baruch Brenner, MD; Mordechai R. Kramer, MD, FCCP; Alan Katz, MD; Rafael Feinmesser, MD; Alina Weissmann-Brenner, MD; Aaron Sulkes, MD; and Eyal Fenig, MD.
