Mohamad Abdelsalam, physician ICU Send letter to journal: Re: Does montelukast induce CSS mohamadabdelsalam{at}hotmail.com Mohamad Abdelsalam	It is proposed that montelukast unmasks CSS by allowing tapering high doses of inhaled and/or systemic steriods.However,in case 2,the patient continued to deteriorate despite starting montelukast therapy and 3 courses of systemic steriods were given in addition to high-dose inhaled fluticasone allready being given.In otherwards, dose of steriods was increasing Not tapering but the patient developed CSS a few months after montelukast was introduced (despite high-dose inhaled and systemic steriods.
